I've been working on this guitar for a while now, but I'm finally complete. It is a gift for my dad for his and my mom's 40th anniversary. Its not perfect, but it came out playing and sounding very good. Its my best build yet, so I'm happy with it. Its a L-00 model with East Indian rosewood sides, 3 piece rosewood and maple back, Sitka top, rosewood fingerboard, Ebony headstock overlay, and all binding is flamed maple. |

Nice work!! He's gonna love it! I'd have loved the opportunity to build a guitar for my dad. He passed 3 years before I started this crazy quest... |

That's awesome! I love that you used small pieces to come up with the back, and that you repeated the maple a few more times. |

'Atta boy Phil, a gift from the heart. Nice looking L00! Very interesting bridge - not sure I have seen one framed in maple like that before - I like it! |

Thank you all for the many kind words! I'll be giving the guitar to my dad this weekend when I go to visit. To go along with the guitar, I also made a little photo album that contains pictures of the entire build process, starting with a picture of the raw top/back woods, all the way through to finishing. My dad is a machinist and documents his build projects, so I think he'll enjoy that little added touch. |
